Dr. Kavoussi presents research on factors impacting couple’s decision making between vasectomy reversal and sperm retrieval/IVF in San Francisco at the AUA meeting.

There were over 16,000 urologists attending from all over the world at the 2018 American Urological Association national meeting in San Francisco.  Dr. Parviz Kavoussi presented his research on the factors that impact a couple’s decision making when the male partner has had a vasectomy and the couple is interested in achieving a pregnancy.  Two options are available for such couples including vasectomy reversal and sperm retrieval with IVF.  ACVVR is a division of AFRM which is unique private couples clinic that offers both partners evaluations by respective specialists in male and female fertility so the couple has the opportunity to hear potential benefits and down sides of the two options from both specialists, and can choose the route that is most appropriate for them.  Dr. Kavoussi performed a study to evaluate what factors impact the decision making between the options including factors such as male partner age, female partner age, time since the vasectomy and ovarian reserve status.  He was very privileged to present his work on this topic at the AUA national meeting.
