The Sexual Medicine Society of North America holds a national meeting which took place in Miami, Florida this year. Dr. Kavoussi had a scientific abstract accepted for presentation at this meeting. The study described the trends in men seeking vasectomy in correlation with the passing of the strictest abortion law in the history of Texas. Although this study was not designed to assess causation, there was a clear correlation between the timing of the signing of the Texas abortion law and trends in younger men seeking vasectomy with fewer children prior to vasectomy, more men without children opting for vasectomy, and a higher percentage of men who were single opting for vasectomy following the implementation of the law.
