Dr. Parviz Kavoussi is a critical medical journal reviewer who feels very strongly about the importance of strong scientific articles with good methodology being published in scientific journals. Because of this, he dedicates a great deal of time performing the service of reviewing scientific articles for publication for multiple journals including: Journal of Urology, Journal of Sexual Medicine, U.S. Pharmacist, Journal of Diabetes Research and Clinical Metabolism, Journal of Endourology, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Urology the Gold Journal, Andrology, European Urology, PLOS ONE, Asian Journal of Andrology, Case Reports in Urology, and Therapeutic Advances in Urology. Dr. Kavoussi states, “It is crucial to not only look at the conclusion of what a scientific study says, but to look closely at the methodology by which the study was performed. A poorly done study translates to invalid results. It is very important to weed out the good studies from the poorly done ones for publication as they may actually change how we provide care for patients in clinical practice.” Dr. Kavoussi was recognized amongst a group of elite critical reviewers of scientific articles by receiving the Asian Journal of Andrology 2018 Outstanding Reviewer Award.
