Dr. Kavoussi publishes editorial on anti-adhesion agent use during vasectomy

With any surgical procedure the goal is to be effective, as minimally invasively as possible, and minimize complications.  This stands true for vasectomy, which is why Dr. Kavoussi opts for the no-scalpel vasectomy technique for his patients.  As a highly renowned vasectomy specialist, Dr. Kavoussi published an editorial on a study published by a group revealing lower adhesions, fibrosis, and inflammation when using an anti-adhesion agent at the time of vasectomy in a rat model.  Although this shows improved tissue response after vasectomy with use of this agent, it has to be correlated with actual clinical outcomes in a human model before it can be considered for clinical use.  However, work like this is important to try to further improve our techniques and outcomes for our patients ultimately.
